About Irish Association of Barbershop Singers

The Irish Association of Barbershop Singers (IABS) was founded in Birr County Offaly in 1988 and the first Irish Barbershop Convention was held in the Marian Hall in Birr in 1989.

Since then a dedicated and growing number of Barbershop enthusiasts have ensured the growing popularity Barbershop throughout Ireland.

Our aim is to preserve the style of barbershop singing, to encourage the development of quartets and choruses and youth and to further the education of members in any and all aspects of barbershop in Ireland.

Please contact us if we can help with establishing a group or if we can help with information about barbershop singing.
