IABS is the organisation which supports and promotes the tradition of barbershop singing in Ireland. This thriving art form includes modern pop, jazz and folk music arranged in the barbershop style of A Cappella four-part harmony.

There are dozens of enthusiastic barbershop choruses and quartets located around the country. If you would like to try the experience of close harmony singing — or you would like to find a group to entertain at a party or function — please browse our site and get in touch.

A word from Liz Nolan, Chair, IABS

Welcome to our new-look IABS website! We hope you find it easy to move around and find information.

In particular, the Members' Area has been tidied and improved: the Music Library, for example, contains music performed at IABS Bootcamp/Big Sing events over a number of years. Here you can find full-mix audio tracks and information on arrangers if you would like to follow up on performing the listed songs in your own chorus or quartet.

Although it's a new look we're still the same people! IABS, now in its 31st year is enjoying a growth in membership and surge in development with new youth choruses coming on stream. This is very encouraging and rewarding for all.

Here on our new website, and particularly on our social media, we will keep you up to date with new IABS initiatives coming up.
