Cherry is a BABS (British Association of Barbershop Singers) Singing Judge, Vice Chair of BABS Guild of Judges, Music Services Team Leader for IABS and past Musical Director of Ireland Unlimited.
Her first experience of barbershop singing in the eighties inspired her to set up Coventry Ladies Barbershop Harmony Chorus and later Coventry Men’s Barbershop Harmony Chorus. In 1996, she was awarded a BABS scholarship to study directing in USA and from that time onwards has served on the faculty of many Harmony and Directors Colleges.
Cherry came to Ireland 22 years ago and founded Ireland Unlimited, the award-winning national ladies barbershop chorus which has represented Ireland in Spain, Holland and UK.
Cherry is delighted to serve on Irish Association Barbershop Singers Executive which works hard to encourage and develop barbershop in Ireland.
Linda Corcoran comes to us with a wealth of experience, boundless energy and a deep and genuine passion for close harmony. She brings that passion to everything she does and has the enviable knack of making others feel the same as she does about great music and inspiring performance.
Linda's early musical background lies in piano and the world of Lancashire Brass Bands playing Flugel Horn.
Discovering the sound of Barbershop harmony when she was just 15 was life-changing and has led to Linda winning many national and international barbershop awards in quartet and chorus both as a singer and director.
Since 2000, Linda has been the front line director of the current British Champion Chorus ‘The Great Western Chorus of Bristol’. The GWC’ is the most successful Men’s barbershop chorus in UK history having won the British Championships a record 10 times. Linda led the chorus to the last 4 of those Gold Medals along with two appearances in the World Championships in the USA. She is looking forward to being back on the International Convention stage directing The GWC when they represent the UK in Orlando in July 2018.
Linda works full time as a vocal coach and choir leader running 'Go Vocal', two community rock and pop choirs in Bristol and Cheltenham, bringing fun and harmony to everyday lives. She is in great demand as an arranger and coach in the UK and abroad and is on the teaching faculty of BABS Harmony College.
Linda is a member of the Music Services team for IABS and is the director of ‘Harmony Federation’, Ireland’s National Men’s Barbershop Chorus
Wil Saenen started singing barbershop in 1988 in Vlissingen with the champion chorus of that time, Sea Sound Singers.
Her career as Director began with Sound Waves and later the New Harvest Singers, For a short time she was a singing judge trained within the Labbs category school.
In The Netherlands she has been coaching many groups, choruses and quartets for many years. In 2014 and 2015 she directed the first Dutch mixed chorus; right now she has both a men’s and a women’s chorus with whom she does more mixed singing.
Rhiannon lives in North Wales and is now in her 44th year as an active barbershopper as singer, director, coach and judge. She has directed choruses within LABBS and BABS winning several gold, silver and bronze medals as well as gaining 2 quartet gold medals. She began her judging career as an Arrangement judge for LABBS, and is now a Singing judge for BABS. She has judged at barbershop competitions in Holland, Germany and Ireland as well as judging non-barbershop singing competitions in the UK. She has coached in Europe and the US and is delighted to be back in Ireland at Bootcamp.
