Who are we?

The Irish Association of Barbershop Singers was founded in Birr County Offaly in 1988 and the first Irish Barbershop Convention was held in the Marian Hall in Birr in 1989.

Since then a dedicated and growing number of Barbershop enthusiasts have ensured the growing popularity of this very distinctive singing style.

Today there are a widely dispersed number of barbershop choruses and quartets countrywide and our annual convention is one of the most popular events on the International barbershop circuit.

Our aim is to further promote and enhance the spread of barbershop singing and we actively encourage the establishment of new barbershop groups; male, female and mixed.

If you would like information on the support and help we can provide in establishing your group or if you just want to contact us for information about barbershop singing just click on the link below to email us for up to date information.
